When can I access my storage unit?

You can access your storage unit between 6 AM and 10 PM via our electronic keypad-operated gates. When you lease storage space at Alpine Storage, you will be given a unique, personal entry code that you will use to enter and exit the self-storage area.

The office is open from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday. We are closed on Sunday.

If you have a business purpose or a one-time special need to access your unit at times after the gates are normally closed, you can contact our on-site manager, and we will make special arrangements to accommodate your specific needs. We close the facility during the nighttime hours for security purposes.

Please know that if an account becomes past due, your electronic storage unit entry code can be temporarily suspended or turned off, and your unit can be “over-locked” (which is when the facility management places a second lock on your unit until your account is paid current).

On-site Management

Our on-site manager lives in a home on-site at Alpine Storage. So even when the office is closed, there is often somebody out and about on the property. We keep a very close eye on everything that goes on at Alpine Storage.

Do I need to provide a lock for my storage unit?

Yes. You must provide your own lock. Our office does not keep a duplicate of your key and no one can access your unit except for you. Only one lock per unit is allowed.

What is the rental term for storage rental leases?

Alpine Storage rents storage units on a month-to-month basis. There is no long-term commitment or minimum monthly requirement. Your first month’s rent is prorated based on the day that you sign the lease and move into your rental unit. There is no prorating of your last month, so if you plan on moving out, you must do so by the last day of the month; otherwise, you will incur another month’s rent. Please notify us of your departure date by the first of the month in which you plan to move out.

When is my rent due?

Rent is always due on the first day of each month. If your rent is not received by the 10th of each month, a $10 late fee will be added to your account, and access to your unit may be denied.

What payment methods does Alpine Storage accept?

At Alpine Storage, you can make your rental payments with any of the following methods:

  • Visa – debit or credit
  • MasterCard – debit or credit
  • American Express
  • Discover

You may call our office and make payments over the telephone, or you can log into our website and make payments 24 hours a day.
Another great way to pay your monthly self-storage bill is to set up auto-pay with your debit or credit card. By setting up the auto-pay feature, you will never incur a late fee or risk having the contents of your unit sold at auction.

Please contact our on-site manager if you wish to set up the auto-pay feature using your debit or credit card.

What happens if my payment is late?

Rent is always due on the first of the month. If it is not received by the 10th, then on the 11th day, a $10 late fee is added to the account, and access to your storage unit may be denied by the suspending of your access entry code.

Please remember that you can always call our office and pay over the phone with a credit or debit card. Just remember that you must call during our normal business hours, which are from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and until 12:00 noon on Saturday.

However, you can visit our website and pay online after hours but before midnight on the 10th.

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes §33-1705, “Articles stored pursuant to a rental agreement may be sold or disposed of if any storage charges are overdue for more than thirty days.”

What items are prohibited in a storage unit?

For the safety of our other tenants and the facility improvements, some items are not permitted in a storage unit. The following items are strictly forbidden and may not be placed in your storage unit:

  • Flammable substances
  • Hazardous or toxic materials
  • Pharmaceuticals and controlled substances
  • Weapons and ammunition
  • Food and or containers that previously contained food
  • Living or dead organisms

Why does Alpine Storage require contents insurance?

Just like your personal property in a rented apartment or condominium your personal property belongings kept in storage are not covered by insurance through Alpine Storage. We require that you insure your belongings for your own protection.

If your renter’s, home owner’s or other insurance policy does not cover your personal property kept in a storage facility, please ask us about an easy solution that you can pay with your monthly storage rent. If you do have existing coverage for your personal property, please bring a copy of your policy declaration page which shows that your personal property is covered while kept in a storage unit.
